Shane, co-host ABOG Podcast, has been singing the praises of Driveclub since the very beginning. When everyone else out there with a mic and a podcast was taking turns ripping on the game, Shane defended it and even hoisted it up and his one his favorites of 2014.
Whether it be the broken promises, Sony boasted a free PlayStation Plus version of Driveclub only to delay it's release seven months, or the lack of varied gameplay, it's become one of the best-selling games on PlayStation 4. For good reason too. Driveclub's visuals are top notch and the racing controls, arguably the most important aspect of a video game racer, are spot on. The game is a blast to play!
Couple years post-launch and many enticing PlayStation Store sales later, a lot of us now own the game. I recently grabbed a digital copy for something like $7 US. Physical disc versions of the base game can be purchased for $19.99 US.
If you're one of the few out there yet to own Driveclub, you may want to consider grabbing a copy. I mean most of our community trust Shane's advice and already bought the game. Right? It was a running joke on the show for what feels like at least a year with him bringing Driveclub up on every episode. He couldn't stop talking about it. No surprise then when recently considering a game to play together as a community, Tim Paullin (PSN ID- tpaullin), good friend of the show and active community member, suggested Driveclub.
Tim went ahead and started a biweekly race that you can play on your own time. In my opinion that's the best part! Coordinating a day/time to get everyone together has proven very difficult with kids, jobs, social lives, etc. so this is a perfect fit for a lot of us.
Fire up your PlayStation 4 whenever you have free time and join us for Driveclub Community Challenges. Shane is proving his love and commitment to Driveclub with a time that tops the leaderboard. See if you can beat him. See where you rank amongst other community members. The results will be archived and hopefully the interest will be there for Tim to keep these going for some time to come. First event is already up-and-running and will end on Saturday May 6th. We'll share the results on the podcast and on this webpage.
There are a couple of ways to join in. Join the 'ABOG Podcast' PlayStation community via your PlayStation 4 and post in there that you're interested. Or you can message Tim (PSN ID: tpaullin) and he'll hook you up. Hope to see you in the leaderboards.
